All About Vision is a site dedicated to vision and eye-care news, covering everything from vision correction to diseases that affect eyesight.

Pliner Solutions developed the interactive pages of the All About Vision site, ad-serving functionality, and provides ongoing consulting and hosting services.
Advertising is one of the key features of the All About Vision site; almost any given page can contain at least 2 or 3 advertisements. Serving over 350,000 pages per day — close to 1 million advertisements — the site required a robust advertising system that would hold up under heavy load, and serve images quickly. Pliner Solutions built an efficient, database-driven advertising system for the site, which administrators can manage and dynamically track the performance of each individual advertisement.
To enable users to find the information they need quickly, Pliner Solutions implemented a lightning-fast, site-wide search interface utilizing Microsoft's Indexing Service to find relevant content and highlight search terms.
A database-driven glossary was added to the site to help users look up vision-related terms, and to help site administrators manage content.
Pliner Solutions also implemented a screening test for LASIK candidacy, to help site users determine whether or not they may qualify for LASIK vision correction surgery. The test asks a series of questions (some of which are based on answers to prior questions) and analyzes user input to ultimately determine their level of qualification. Users are shown a customized, printable report at the conclusion of the screening test, and are given the option to be contacted by a physician for a free consultation.
LASIK candidacy screening test results are stored anonymously in a database, and site administrators can view dynamically generated statistical reports that show age groups and gender percentages, the number of tests taken, the number of leads e-mailed, and more.
