Bradley S. Pliner - Born Jan 8, 1973 in Philadelphia, PA USA
Ever since I registered pliner.com I have been getting e-mails from around the world
from other Pliners - some who turned out to be relatives.
So I decided to create a web site where Pliners can come and introduce themselves.

Yitzhak was the first from Russia to come to Philadelphia.

David was born in Philadelphia. His parents were from Russia.
Shirley was born in Poland, moved to Canada, and then moved to Philadelphia.

now living in South Orange, NJ.
My father was Harry Joseph Pliner (1906 - 1971), born (I believe) in
Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Norfolk, VA, where his father, Joseph
Pliner, had a hardware store. Harry Pliner worked for the US Post Office
most of his adult life. He married Goldie Medowar in 1945.
My father had a brother, Israel (Irving) Pliner, born in Norfolk, 1913.
Irving lived in Brooklyn, Far Rockaway and Marlboro, NJ. Irving married
Gertrude (Dee) Ganz in 1947. They had two daughters, Joan (1949), now

I know very little about the Pliner side of my family and would sincerely
love to learn more.
Davida Pliner Hansen - Born in 1935, Chicago, Illinois
I was born in Chicago Illinois to Rita Greenberg Pliner and

there are many Pliners in our family spread across the USA, mainly in
Texas, California and Hawaii. Looking forward to hearing more about the
Pliners..
Kristine Iverson Burnham - Born in 1951, MN
I grew up in Mound, MN. My maternal grandfather was a Gandel
from Russia and his mothers maiden name was Pliner. First name Schendel,
later changed to Sara when they came to America in 1904. I recently heard
she had a sister, but I don't have any more information. Isadore Gandel
and Sara Pliner Gandel had 7 children and settled in Odessa, ND. The
children later moved to Minneapolis and some then moved to California. My

born in Moscow and he is an offspring of pliners who lived in Moscow
several centuries. I know that all russian pliners are our relatives. I can tell
you much more about our branch so we could builde the tree of relationship.
But the most easy way to find out is to search using ICQ: there are more than 40 entries!
Michele Pliner - Born Sept 5, 1980 in Abington, PA

years. Then I moved to Orlando, FL for 9 years, and I recently moved back to
Phila. for work. I have a B.A. from Rollins College (Winter Park, FL) in
Psychology and Religious Studies. I currently work at the Hospital of the
University of Pennsylvania as a research assistant and I work at the
Metanexus Institute: http://www.metanexus.net. I plan to attend
graduate school within the next two years for a PhD in neuropsychology. My
parents were also born in the Philadelphia area. My father is David
E. Pliner (born May 1947), and he is married to Carol (Lipsky)

married to Susan Pliner. I have no siblings, Eileen has 2 children named
Jill (born 1965) and Rob (born 1967), and I have two cousins from Art's
family named Andrea (born 1980) and Julie (born 1982). My paternal
grandfather, Nathan Pliner, was the brother of Sam Pliner. Sam Pliner was
the paternal grandfather of Brad Pliner (who created this webpage).
Therefore, David (my father) and Brad's father are first cousins. I had no
knowledge of the Pliner family tree beyond Nathan Pliner (my grandfather)
until I e-mailed Brad last night, looked at this webpage today, and then
spoke to my father. So, I have found a cousin (Brad).
